About Helen
Helen is a caring and compassionate Psychologist with 20 years experience in the counselling field. Her focus in on assisting clients to have greater self awareness so that they have more choices to lead the life they truly want or were meant to live.

Originally from Sydney, Helen left her home town in 2001 and headed to the tropical north with her life and practice based in Darwin, Northern Territory. She enjoys the laid back pace of the tropics with its outback feel, magnificent monsoonal storms and the eternal red orange sunsets.

In the last decade, her clinical experience and training has led to training in Radix Body Centered Psychotherapy. She was inspired to train in this technique following a Somatic Psychotherapy weekend workshop in Sydney, where she experienced coming alive in her body for the first time. This experience led to greater choices, freedom and inner peace.

She also highly values and utlises her training and experience with other therapeutic modalities including family of origin therapy, the Psycho dynamic approach, Gestalt therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and most recently Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Her therapeutic approach focuses on: family of origin therapy to increase awareness of difficult life patterns and how to shift these, inner child healing; acceptance and flowing with challenging emotional and thought states; body centered psychotherapy to enhance self contact and improve relationships, including centering and grounding techniques for greater relaxation, mindfulness practice to assist staying in the present moment and finding inner peace.​​​
